Change is good...ish
There have been some changes this week. Nothing bad, just that I've got a new job. I'm not positive about my schedule yet (I was just offered the job today), so hopefully nothing will change with this blog. The job is at a convenience store, not a writing job, but that's okay. Gotta make money somehow while I work on my book, right? Anyway, I'm excited to have that part of my routine again. That was part of my journey to better mental health, and now I've got it. I've still got a long way to go, but I'm feeling good about the progress I've made so far.
Another thing that's changed is my weight: I've lost 20 pounds! I started my weight loss journey about two months ago, and I already feel better. I've got more energy and I feel more motivated to do the things I need to do.
You might notice I've made changes to the website layout--well, I gave it an entire makeover. I have a new logo and I'm focusing on how I advertise the website in order to reach more people. I would love for this blog to be a place where writers can come and exchange ideas or meet new friends. I know that may seem like a lofty goal, but it's something I would love to cultivate. I've been shaped by the communities I'm a part of, and I want to give that back to people who don't feel like they have a place to be themselves.
As I work on my book, I want to share the process in a way that's engaging and understandable, the same way others have when working on new projects. I find it a great way to gauge people's reactions to your work or the direction your work takes you. It's an invaluable way to make yourself a better writer. Anyway, all of this is to say that I don't have any updates on my book this week. I've been busy interviewing and focusing on finding a job, so my book didn't get much love this week. I'm working on a better work-life balance, so be patient with me. I hope you all have a great week! See ya next time!
P.S. Here's a look at my new logo! Hope you like it!
